The rape of silence - Eva Thomas - 2000
Le viol du silence (The Rape of Silence) is a moving and pioneering account by Eva Thomas, one of the first incest victims to break the silence openly. In this account, she recounts the assault she suffered at the age of fifteen by the man she called "Dad", a seemingly gentle man who became her tormentor. After this act, Marie - the name she gave herself - entered a long night: anorexia, sterility, depression. But little by little, she finds the strength to speak out, to denounce. This raw, courageous text is an act of resistance against silence and shame. Since then, Eva Thomas has tirelessly pursued her fight for the victims of incest. An essential book that has marked generations.
