Stiller Kamerad - Documentary- 1h28 - Leonhard Hollmann
Stiller Kamerad ("Silent Comrades" in French) is a poignant documentary that follows the journey of three German army soldiers suffering from PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). All took part in the war in Afghanistan in 2010, and are seeking to rebuild their lives, beyond traditional therapies, through therapy with horses. Without interfering, Leonard Hollman's camera plunges us into the intimacy of Mandy, Olivier and Roman in a sincere and authentic way. In powerful testimonies, they recount their often painful and intimate memories of war. Therapist Claudia Swierczek's horses accompany the reconstruction process of the protagonists. This unusual form of therapy goes beyond the clinical setting, and has enabled some of them to regain a satisfactory standard of living.
