V13 is the code name given to the extraordinary trial of the November 13, 2015 attacks. The trial ran from September 2021 to June 2022, bringing together 14 defendants (including Salah Abdeslam, the sole survivor of the jihadist commandos), 1,800 civil parties, 350 lawyers, and a 53-meter-high court file. Writer Emmanuel Carrère attended the hearings in their entirety, writing a weekly column for several European newspapers (L'Obs, El País, La Repubblica, Le Temps). He describes the experience as a real journey, often trying and deeply affecting.
