Cab driver

Travis Bickle, a former Marine who returned from the Vietnam War, is a cab driver in New York City. An insomniac and a loner, his nocturnal encounters and the daily violence he witnesses gradually bring back his war traumas. In a quest for "good", he tries to rescue an under-age prostitute from her pimps, and ends up saving her. Released in 1976, this film is one of the first to mention the psychological and psychic consequences of the Vietnam War on soldiers.
