Les fragments d'Antonin - Film - Gabriel Le Bomin - 2006
In the aftermath of the First World War, Antonin Verset is admitted to the clinic run by avant-garde psychiatrist Pr Labrousse. Wracked by the horror of combat, Antonin communicates only by tirelessly repeating five first names, like fragments of a life fragmented by trauma. Professor Labrousse sets out to relieve his pain with a revolutionary therapy reminiscent of exposure therapy. Les Fragments d'Antonin, the first film by a director who worked in the armed forces' film department, is first and foremost a human story of destiny, friendship and love. It also depicts with great precision the symptoms of post-traumatic stress, in an almost didactic way. An excellent film, somewhat overlooked, which provides a better understanding of this pathology and, above all, a glimpse of the techniques that lead to recovery.
