In L'amour et les forêts, Valérie Donzelli adapts Éric Reinhardt's novel and tells the story of Blanche, a woman who believes she has found love, and the man she is looking for, Grégoire. Seduced and quickly involved in a relationship, she moves away from her mother and twin sister, and agrees to start all over again. But the romance gradually turns into a trap, under the sway of a possessive and dangerous man. Through this intimate drama told from the victim's point of view, the film powerfully explores the mechanisms of psychological domination and the establishment of coercive control.
